Homegrown Loofah

When we flip through our seed catalogs each year, we see all kinds of things we'd like to grow but don't have room for in our gardens. But when we saw these, we knew we would be making room for loofahs! We watched them grown into long, green pods - some the size of small baseball bats! - and just before the first frost, we harvested them, cleaned them, let them dry, and cut them into 4 to 6 inch slices! So fun to grow! 

They soften up in the water and feel amazing as skin exfoliators!
